Awesome osso buco spaghetti!!! Local wine pairs nicely. Cute quaint town with vintage decor. Try the seasonal specials!!
First time at Catelli's. My wife and I went for dinner tonight. I've been wanting to go for a while. I've heard so many people say such great things I think my expectations were a bit too high. The ambiance and service were excellent. I was a bit disappointed in the menu. It is a bit of a small limited menu. Nothing really jumped out to me. I ordered the minestrone and lasagna. The minestrone was excellent! One of the best I've had. The lasagna with meat sauce was also good but it was different. The layers of lasagna were so paper-thin there was no texture. There was nothing but cheese and it was kind of mushy. The flavor was good. I enjoyed the meat sauce but I probably wouldn't order that again.
I've eaten here a few times. Small quaint place reviewed by Guy F. Very good food small town of Geyserville reasonable. If you are headed Morth of Santa Rosa you might want to stop off here. It will be quiet and staff is friendly and you'll be glad you did
We went here last week as a birthday present for my husband, and it couldn't have been a better decision to go there. However, it was a little warm, so we decided to eat inside. It was more relaxed. They had a lovely outdoor area with a black-and-white checkered tile floor, umbrellas, and heating elements, but it was hot that day. There was no need for any of that, but if you needed it, it would be there. When you first walk into the restaurant there is a huge bar and you could eat or drink there if you wanted rather than wait for a table, the rustic in the bar area, though. when you come into the restaurant dinning area it's contemporary, pretty and elegant. We went there with my son and his wife and had an absolutely beautiful meal. The meatball sliders were our appetizers. They were super delicious and a definite favorite of the whole family. My son and I got the chicken Parmesan, and to be quite honest, I have ordered chicken Parmesan 1 million times and stopped ordering it quite a few years ago because of having so many that were done so badly, but my son assured me that I would not be disappointed and he was correct. It was delicious and flavorful, and the chicken was moist. The sauce was perfect. I couldn't eat it all but happily finished it the next day. The birthday boy got chicken piccata, and he loved it. I have to say it was really good, but I'm still sticking with my chicken Parmesan. It was amazing. We also ordered that kale salad, which I've never had before. It had some sort of fruit in there, along with croutons and Parmesan. The whole family loved it. The service we received that day was absolutely perfect. So I must say there is no way I'm not coming back to this restaurant. That Chicken Parmesan will get me back here every time. By the way, it's a perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner, whether inside or outside. I love the outside patio, They have a beautiful white bar, but unfortunately, it wasn't open that day. I think it was too warm, but I must say that it is the perfect patio for a romantic dinner. They also do events during the summer with live music, and I'm pretty sure that's when they open that beautiful white bar outside. Now, that sounds like a good time to me. Cheers to you, clink clink SYOY
My husband had been hearing about Catelli's having a "top 10 lasagna in the US", so we had to check it out. It's located in quaint Geyserville, a wine country town with a two block downtown. Reservations on Resy only had 4:30 pm and 7:15 pm on a Sunday night so we took the later and arrived around 6:30 in case they could seat us earlier. We decided to have a cocktail at the historic bar while we waited. We wanted to sit outside though they said we could have been seated inside right away. When I peeked at the outdoor patio, it was half empty! Needless to say, we were seated within 15 minutes outside on the black and white checkered patio under shady umbrellas. We started with the garlic bread ($10.50) sourdough with house-made garlic butter and cheesy parmesan. It was soft and buttery and delicious. We both ordered the famous lasagna ($28), which had 10 thin layers of hand-made pasta, organic tomato sauce, ricotta and herb cheese filling. The sauce was meaty with a different spice to it but very good. Not top 10 (that goes to Gold Mirror in SF) but tasty nonetheless. We took about half home as it was filling. Our waitress was very nice but not too attentive and we had to ask the bus boy for a second glass of wine. There were a few large parties she was attending to but bartenders just sitting around outside. They have a good wine list with most glasses about $13-15 each. I would opt for the outdoor patio again and they have music on Thursdays during the summer. We will definitely return and try some other specials.
Always a great place for food, drinks and music when it is offered. We always ask for outdoor seating, it is a nice environment. The lasagna is something we always talk and want to order. The service is always great, welcoming staff, knowledgeable of the menu and perfect for a date night.
Wow wow wow - what a delightful find in Geyserville! One of the best Italian restaurants I've visited and I should be glad I live too far to eat here every night to avoid massive weight gain. My favorite item was actually the truffle fries - they are hand cut, perfectly crispy on outside - sprinkled with herbs, drizzled with truffle oil and given a splash a lemon for freshness. The famous lasagna lived up to big expectations- you can have it vegetarian or with meat sauce, which is nice. All pastas were perfectly cooked and accompanied. I didn't love the special menu item - spring pea edamame - it's cooked/eaten exactly like edamame but to me, spring pea should stay fresh and I didn't love the use of older spring pea shells as edamame. They have a wonderful, pet friendly outdoor patio (in the back) - that is covered, shaded and provides heat lamps in the evening. It is surrounded by well groomed garden of plants and herbs. Our entire experience was very pleasant - including the restrooms, which were large individual rooms - very clean and comfortable. Even the baby changing station had emergency diapers provided. Service was attentive and friendly. I loved the restaurant provides chilled share plates for cold dishes like salads and warmed share plates for hot dishes like pastas. Superb attention to detail here. We found free street parking in front but there is also a small lot nearby. Tip - they do provide bread service on request, the basil tomato sweet butter with warm bread should not be missed.
Who would have thought in a tiny town in wine country that this incredible restaurant would be here?? A sweet surprise and can't wait to return. We had been on an extended trip for over three weeks and we were staying nearby. I opened up my Yelp app and this place popped up. I called for a reservation but was quickly told that they were totally booked. Only available sitting was bar seating. I was shocked but intrigued at the same time. We both decided we had better go check it out. We arrived close to 7:00pm and sure enough the place was packed. I looked over at the bar and noticed two free stools. The people at the bar advised us that they were open so we sat down quickly. We met Tyler our bartender who quickly gave us some history on the restaurant. The restaurant first opened in 1936 by Italian immigrants Santi and Virginia Catelli. They use local and organic farmers ingredients plus their wine list is very impressive. It is still family run today. So many delicious items on the menu and it was so hard to choose but we decided on the Catelli's Salad and Lasagna. We also enjoyed a glass of a tasty Zinfandel from a local winery. The lasagna was ten layers of delicate pasta and we selected the Domenica sauce which had organic tomato, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil plus it was spicy. Can I just say this was the best lasagna I think I have ever had. I sure wish they were closer as I would seriously dine here every week just so I could sample all the dishes. Service from Tyler was great as he was super busy pouring drinks and serving food too. The vibe in the restaurant is festive and lively. On Thursdays they offer live music. They offer beautiful patio dining as well but I will have to experience that on my next visit. Parking is on the street and with such a small town not too hard to find a space. So happy we got lucky to find you Catelli's, we will be back!
